Fandango's Gold [Paperback]
Client Evaluations
My husband and I each discovered this a rather thrilling and nicely written book.
Capt. Boudreau of course has a great deal of sailing encounter. The locale was very authentic . All in all a fairly very good read.
FANDANGO'S GOLD is excitement! It delivers! "Mind you, there were no guarantees in the Hurricane Lottery. Whenever points looked as well excellent to be accurate, they commonly had been, and when each Patch and Jack drank, they romanced girls and got into fights. The difference was that Patch scored a great deal more quite often."
These words, lifted from the pages of "Fandango's Gold" (pages 13, 47) are but a teaser of the colorful language writ by Captain "Lou" Boudreau about the schooner "Fandango", her crew and her adventures in the Caribbean. Sea lovers have been hungering for new sea adventures by a master storyteller, and "by Jove" in Capt. Boudreau, we have one particular. It is no longer essential to go back to the time of Admiral Nelson to sail a tall ship off the dock at Nelson's Dockyard. Fandango calls the "Dockyard" dwelling and Capt. Jack spins the tale of attractive girls, the search for ancient Spanish gold, nasty characters, in a position seamen and accurate close friends.
The book is so exciting I identified myself reading slower and slower near the end, I didn't want it to end. It is that superior! Author of Chasing the Wind, Gold Bars
